Today I want about being satisfied, and my text will be Isaiah 55:2Isaiah 55:2:

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And delight yourself in abundance.

How often have you made purchases and were not satisfied as much as you had hoped to be. Or, how much stuff do you have around your house that is no longer being used in hopes that one day it will be useful.

My friends, our problem has always been that we are seeking to satisfy ourselves with things that will not last such as: finances, relationships, status, or jobs.
We are not much different from those Israelite to whom this Scripture is directed for they went off the grid of God’s covenant of Grace seeking a veneer of contentment through actions and resources which never could satisfy.

The only thing that will ever satisfy you and me is God’s Blessing of Salvation. In this there is delight. In this there is abundance.

Earlier in this chapter, we read that while such gift is free it is not without cost. God’s cost was the crucifixion of His Son. Our cost is faithful obedience to Him

So, what satisfies you?
