Good morning, this is Michael De Rosa and today I need to talk with you about the sufficiency of God. My text is found in Psalm 16:5
You, Lord, are all I have, and you give me all I need;
my future is in your hands.
If you are like me it is easy to acknowledge God’s goodness all the time WHEN things are going relatively well.
On the other hand, though, when problems arise it is relatively easy to start considering the many resources you either have at your disposal or would like to have with you now in order to solve the problem. And the thought of seeking God, appears to be more of a nice thing to think about, a platitude if you will. And so, you approach this problem with a seeming reckoning that God helps those who help themselves. And you roll up your shift sleeves.
BUT such thoughts run aground in light of God’s calling us to experience His sovereignty in our lives.
Instead of entertaining that cliché of seeking God, toss it overboard in order to live in the reality of God’s watchful and loving care for you, my friend, regardless of what you encounter during life.
