Have you ever heard someone say “God showed up in church today?”
When I was a lot, this phrase “God’s Spirit moved in the service” would either spook me or leave scratching my head in bewilderment.
Now it is different. I am beginning to understand this…a little bit more. But not so much with my mind, but my heart: ‘God shows up’ when we authentically worship Him.
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
We were blessed last Sunday with God’ spirit. This became evident in several ways:
- People were warmly welcomed in the Body of Christ.
- People were freer to share their testimonies of what God is doing in personal lives
- The sermon -which you will be able to listen to, here, was practical and pointed.
Now, I fully realize that all this could be passed off as very subjective, but my take away for this was that what I experienced was in line with God’s word, namely, we are encouraged to greet others warmly Psalm 133:1; to share our testimonies Hebrews 2:12, and to be inspired by God’s word 2 Timothy 3:16.
Thus, God, showed up. Pretty cool.
What has been happening at your church, lately?
Blessings on your journey,
–Michael
