and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
We really do have a new self, a new identify, my Christian friend: and it is only Bbecause of Christ’s redemptive work on the Cross, so that when God looks at us, instead of seeing a person of sin-filled-ness, He sees Righteousness and Holiness of Truth.
Too often, though, when we struggle with sinful tendencies we doubt that we actually did put on the new self by becoming Christian
When this happens, please consider this: becoming Christian does not mean instant maturity in Christ. Rather we are to grow in the grace of our great God by choosing:
- where to set our affections,
- what to pursue,
- and of how to speak our opinions.
So, know this day that because the Spirit of the Living God dwells in us by faith, we have instant access to a Throne Room of resources that enable us to choose to live by His Righteousness and in the Holiness of the Truth of the Gospel.
