If you would like, here is the audio clip of the following sermonette:
Good morning, let’s look today 1 Peter 3:15-16 from the New American Standard Bible
15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.
When I was younger, I was zealous in sharing my faith, while presuming that sanctifying Christ in my heart was automatically accomplished because I was a Christian.
However this word sanctify is a command –and, thus, far from my youthful erroneous ideas!
In fact, given the likelihood that we will encounter opposition when sharing our faith doesn’t it just make sense to take time to make sure Christ has first place in our lifes?
Our world needs to know Him, and not some eloquently styled story of our conversion
Just something to think about.
Blessings on your Journey
