Good Morning, this is Michael De Rosa and today I want to look at 2 Corinthians 5:17:
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come
Being a new creature has nothing to do with never making another mistake,
Now while many of you of know this, one too many of our brothers and sisters in Christ falter in their faith because somewhere along the way they bought into this lie
Instead, the newness that is depicted here is one of quality of character…not something that has recently come into existence, like the birth of a baby.
Basically, God does a major make-over in us so that those things, people, situations that come into our life are NOW seen from a godly perspective, which allows us the opportunity to respond to them in a redemptive and reconciliatory way.
So while those mistakes, continue to be encountered, instead of focusing on them and, perhaps uttering a ‘Why me, O Lord?’, why not begin the new year – hey start today- focus on the reality on your purpose in life as an agent of reconciliation…because of God making you new.
Blessings on your Journey
-Michael
