We will be looking at Psalm 37:21
The wicked borrows and does not pay back, but the righteous is gracious and gives.

This borrowing is not so much an outward behavior of those who do not know God; but, rather it is an inward disposition.

Let me explain. Until a person has discovered that God alone is sufficient to provide all his needs, that individual will seek to have (aka borrow) anything or anyone that gives him what he currently does not have.

And, thus, we can’t even expect such an individual to give that up for that would necessitate his giving up his life, at least in part, because that which he has borrowed is fulfilling him for the moment.

In contrast, those who know God have all they ever would need, for God gives them more than they could ever possibly imagine, and thus, out of this infinite bounty, they give.

In closing, how do you want to spend your time this day: as a wicked borrower who can not pay back, or as a righteous and gracious giver.
