Hello, this is Michael De Rosa and I would like to continue in 2 Corinthians 5. This time lets look at the fourth verse:
For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.
Just think about the contrast that Paul declares: “mortal” with “life”.
Why is it that put forth so much effort to live well here but so little time to consider eternity
Jim Elliot, the missionary penned these words before his death:
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.
Even if our stay on Earth is relatively long, say 100 years, all of that is but a grain of sand to, at least, the countless number of generations that have preseceded us, without even thinking about eternity
While I realize that we do need to care for these bodies we have, remember that each day we are taking another step to our final destination.
And for the Christian, this is described as LIFE.
So what do you need to do today to be more focused on the reality of Heaven?
Blessings on your journey
-Michael
