Good Morning. This is Michael De Rosa.
Let’s look at Proverbs 27:1, which addresses life’s uncertainty
Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.
I was driven to this reality during a recent vacation when my wife lost her balance while walking along a jetty and nearly lost her life as she fell backwards into a hole narrowly missing hitting her head sharply against the stones. No matter how carefully we planned for this vacation, we just did not know that this would happen.
And while I am thankful that my wife is on the mend, I am soberly reminded that without including God in our plans, our actions amount to Boasting
None of us want to consider ourselves as boastful or arrogant. However, when we make plans that don’t involve prayer, or that presume upon God’s favor, we are putting ourselves into the camp of the Boastful.
And while we will never know what our furture holds for us…we do know who holds the future.
Now that may sound like a cliché, but isn’t that a good enough reason to seek Him on a daily basis.
