We are continuing in Jeremiah 33:3:
‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Last week, I shared with you the importance of finding time to spend with the Lord, a time when your attentions and affections can be centered on Him.
Today, I need to talk with you about contentment for it is far too easy to want to know Hi will and forget about His desire to give us peace in His presence. Peace, though, is elusive in part because busyness in many forms has subtly become a badge of honor for our Society.
Yet, to hear God’s voice we must not only resist the pull towards restless aspirations, but begin to cultivate His peace already within us so that we would experience the greater joy of His presence…even as we seek His will.
Learning this is not difficult but it is painful.
While it is profoundly easy to know His command to come in the midst of our busyness, it is uncomfortable, at best, to willingly cast those things that have become barriers to your intimacy with our Lord.
So, let me end this with a question: Are you content with where you are in your journey of faith?
