Self Drawn: worry faceGood Morning, this is Michael De Rosa, and today the topic is WORRY.

Recently, I was asked if Worry is a sin. The Scripture that my friend cited was

Philippians 4:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

My response was a ‘yes, but….’

Now, while worry has its roots in taking matters into one’s own hands, and thus not letting God be in charge we must be careful in dumping this definition upon every worrisome individual because we don’t know what brought them to the point of worry. For instance, is someone has an anxiety disorder, their ability to process life events is far different than someone without this disorder.

We truly need to heed the wisdom of Galatians 6:1 which speaks of gentle restoration of one who is wayward when talking with a worrisome person

So, back again to my answer of ‘Yes, but’:

Build good relationships with discernment, and leave the big guns of judgment to God, Himself

Blessings on your journey,

-Michael
