We will be looking at 2 Corinthians 5:4
While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.
This phrase, “Swallowed up by life”, forces us to acknowledge that Someone believes that our current life will be changed into something better.
And while we don’t know what that Something Better is, I want you to note Paul’s confidence about this as he states “We want to put on new bodies”.
Now here is something to consider friend: While we all can easily acknowledge that we have trials in this life, how many of you have chosen to have the forward focus like Paul? How many of you have the certainty that Paul had that Something Better can one day swallow up this present life?
And my friend, that faith is not only in knowing that Something Better is one day coming, but that faith gives us hope and joy as we go through our present days
