You hide Your face, they are dismayed;
You take away their spirit, they expire
And return to their dust.
Pretty much up to this point, the Psalmist has told us the wonders of God’s creation; but, here, he turns 180 degrees, leaving us with no imagination for us to even consider that without the Creator there would be no creation, that is, we would cease to exist
Friend, any sense of truth or honor or righteousness or purity or love or goodness, or excellence comes from God. And, all this would be gone, if God had not birthed creation.
The Psalmist paints a bleak picture of panic and terror of life without God.
In closing, I realize that the trials we face today with such things as the pandemic, the sagging economy, abortion concerns, and sexual identity are very concerning to all of us, but all of these problems would only represent one drop in an ocean of dismay if God were to hide His face from us,
