Psalm 37:23
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
God establishes, He ordains, directs, strengthens a righteous man’s steps.
I want you to notice that we are being told not that God has a broad overview of our lives, but He is particular and focused on each step, movement, thought, word that we have and he delights, he is pleased as we respond to His leading.
But, some have replied, “God expects me to do my part and make decisions, especially in the small matters. God really doesn’t expect me to pray and agonize over every breathe I take!”
My response is this: as a baby agonizes over each of his awkward first steps, but then, through practice and encouragement from loved ones he eventually learns to walk without belaboring each step because he has internalized the basics of walking…so too can we learn to walk step by step with the
This is a process. Don’t sell yourself short and miss out on God’s desire to delight in your awkward first steps.
