2 Corinthians 5:6We will be looking at 2 Corinthians 5:6:

Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—

Now, you don’t need courage if you are not facing something horrendous. And, knowing that your physical life is designed to crumble can be nerve wracking because you can not exercise enough, or eat healthy enough to stop the inevitable.

So while it would be easy to become discouraged over this, why not learn about being courageous.

Originally, the root of the word courage meant heart, and it meant to speak one’s mind by telling one’s heart.

So, Christian, instead of dismissing the reality that your body is breaking down, allow that reality to touch your heart so as to point you towards this truth: that you are only living away from the home the Lord has promised his children

In the meantime, do take care of your body for it is what God has given you for here and now. Just keep things in perspective, namely that while you are living here you are also absent from the Lord.

Yours in the Journey with Christ,

Michael
