5 Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” 6 And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead of the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead of the people.
7 Now the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you. 8 You shall, moreover, command the priests who are carrying the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’” 9 Then Joshua said to the sons of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.”
Joshua 3:5-9
Today, we learned about the relationship between our level of peace in the midst of working for the Lord, and our amount of consecration.
Notice, that BEFORE, they walked into the Jordan, they were told to prepare themselves for this task.
How often do we take the time to prepare ourselves to before embarking on God’s work?
How might our own level of confidence in His strength be increased when we set aside time before launching into the work?
How many more wonders might we see when we daily consecrate ourselves each day to whatever God DOES have for us?
Questions to ponder as we move forward in our discipleship journey.
If you don’t have a church home, we would welcome you to be a part of our family as we would love to have you join us as we learn more about what it means to be disciple of our Lord and Savior.
Blessings on your week,
-Michael
