Today I want to talk about confrontation and my text will be James 1:9
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
Confrontation is a part of our lives, whether we like it or not. And, if we learn basic tools when talking with others about sensitive subjects, we will be wiser for it.
Some tools are found right here in God’s word.
Listen more…talk less… and put a lid on anger
Because our own opinions matter about as much as a hill of beans when we are under fire, the best thing to really do is listen, and listen intently.
And perhaps, the most profitable listening is firstly done by listening to the Lord for His assessment of the conflict you find yourself in.
Then, we will know what to say and then we will know how best to control our anger
