Ephesians 4:8

That’s why the Scriptures say: “When he went to the highest place, he took captive those who had captured us and gave gifts to people.”

Friend, not only were we captives to sin, but now -in spite of that former condition- we have been given  gifts.

Remember the story of the prodigal son, who only sought to be treated like a hired man when he came back to His father?

Remember what happened: the Father clothed him with the best robe and then celebrated his return.

That is just how our heavenly father responds upon our return from captivity!

Can you identify with this, Friend:  that there are one too many Christians who are stuck in the captivity of being content in their ideas of what salvation means because they have disallowed the hidden, uncomfortable areas of their lives to be captured by the Lord?

Oh my brothers and sisters, let us walk in the freedom He has for us and learn  how to delight ourselves in the abundance of His good and perfect gift towards us
