Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
In a similar manner as those professional athletes must work together to win, Christians need to do whatever it takes to work together to be a mighty force on the field of life
Then, as those players are looking forward to lucrative paychecks for being in the superbowl, while knowing that the road to victory was a gruesome task of defeating their opponents one game at a time…
We. in similar fashion, know of the prize of Heaven before us, and we would be wise to take into account the rigors of daily life, for unless we are successful at overcoming routine adversity, we will fall short of what God had in store for us.
Now mark my words, salvation is still solely by grace, but remember that this Grace cost our Lord Jesus Christ His very life.
So let me leave you with this question: what are you doing to bring your body into subjection?
