for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Today, I want to tell you a story that helps me better understand this verse:
At one time I looked upon born-again Christians as chained to their beliefs…fanatical, because they always talked about Jesus
Now, I grew up knowing the importance of having God in my life and sought my best to follow the 10 commandments …yet dismissed any idea that I had to become chained to this Gospel and living such a narrowly focused lifestyle
This all changed, though, when I became a born-again Christian as I started to hunger to know God more. So, the chains which I previously saw as wanting to bind me to a life of drudgery, I now saw as chains of freedom showing me that life is meant to be fully lived and can be when it is centered on God.
And that motivates me to boldly proclaim this message of Freedom, the Gospel, the Good New of Jesus Christ
