Good day, this is Michael De Rosa, and we will be Isaiah 55:13, which reads:
Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, and instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, and it will be a memorial to the Lord,
for an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.
Only good happens when the Lord is all you got. And, that reality will be a memorial, a monument; it will be a miracle which will exalt our Lord’s name and no one can take it from us. No one can diminish the witness the Lord creates in us.
While bad things -like thorn bushes and nettles- will look for opportunities to bring us down, it has always been our Lord’s design to cultivate within us a bumper crop of spiritual fruit that will allow us to stand firm and stand tall to any lurking wind of evil.
Now hear me out on this carefully: I will never say, therefore, that the Christian life is pain free. On the contrary, I believe that the Christian will experience more unrest than those without Christ because he knows how the present life of sufferings contrasts with Heaven’s gain.
The ability, though, to lead a joy filled life in the midst of today’s climate is a rich blessing and is granted to all who are thirsty for God.
