and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Let’s notice a couple of things: First the helmet covers our thought processing center. We are saved based on the evidence of Christ’s life death and resurrection, While our emotions will question this surety, we are told to put on salvation’s helmet in order to set our minds on the reality of the Gospel narrative.
Secondly, let’s consider the sword of the Spirit. Just how do we approach God’s word? For just as a sword will do us little good when carelessly handled, God’s word will likewise offer no benefit should we be careless as we read it.
So, dear Christian, let’s discipline ourselves to daily set our thoughts towards the blessings from the Cross, while taking time to mine the blessings from God’s Holy Powerful Word which will help us live like King’s kids as we go through the day
