Good morning, this is Michael De Rosa and today I want to talk to you about faithfulness. Being faithful in our relationship with God can be likened to a marathon. Let’s look at the first part of 1 Corinthians 9:26
26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim;
As Christians we can only be vigilant in living out our faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. All other ways disqualify us. And when that happens you and I need a huge helping of forgiveness. So, be quick to confess in order to get back on your feet
One huge way, though, to help in our resolution to run is to keep our eyes on the goal! We don’t run aimlessly, but purposefully.
There is a principle that when we give our attention to the Goal for which God is calling us, then we readily become more mindful of what helps us towards and what would detract us from His calling on our life.
The Christian life is a blessed life. Don’t ever confuse this to mean it is an easy life.
Remember that Jesus ran the race knowing about His Cross, but his focus was on the Joy.
Should it be less for us?
Blessings in your race,
-Michael
