1 Peter 2:16Today we will look at 1 Peter 2:16

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

Freedom can be intoxicating until we sober up to realize that with freedom comes responsibility.

And here, the implication is that Christians who have freedom are on the cusp of choosing how to use their freedom in a society which followed laws that ran counter to the gospel.

Doesn’t that sound familiar, friend!

As those early Christians were urged away from a sense of superiority because of their higher call to obey God, they were encouraged to live in respect towards one another, doing good towards each other…because of the rich hope and mercy they themselves received in God through Christ

Your, freedom in Christ, Christian is meant to help you become more winsome towards others.

While this will not stop hard times from coming, this freedom is our assurance of God’s love towards us, and this freedom is a powerful witness towards others
