Matthew 4 17 This is Michael De Rosa from the Mountainside Community Church in North Newport, and today in light of the Presidential Primaries coming soon, I want us to look at Matthew 4:17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

These words were spoken during the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, and I think these words might do us well as we look to begin a new Presidential successor to Mr. Obama.

As Christians we need to go deeper than the political landscape we are immersed in to realize that regardless of the best politicians governing practices, if these practices do not acknowledge our spiritual void without God, then it will be only a matter of time when our government’s structure collapses.

Our only hope at any type of restoration begins with Repentance, which is a change of mind because of a changed heart.

And our hearts are changed because we have submitted to God’s lordship.

So, how might we influence those in political office with the good news of Repentance?

Pray my friends, and go…because the kingdom of God is at hand

Blessings on your journeys,

-Michael
